Thomas Tesluk has more
than 20 years of experience in international business,
with particular expertise in developing and managing
joint ventures and alliances in technology, telecommunications,
and financial services.
Tesluk became an independent consultant in 1998, following
the sale of his former employer. He focused on business
development in the telecommunications industry, with
clients including Siemens AG Austria, Max Mobile GmbH,
Cellular Communications of Puerto Rico Inc., and Western
Wireless International Inc.
Prior to consulting, he was executive vice president
of New York-based Cellular Communications International
Inc. He directed all international business development
efforts, including successful applications to win wireless
licenses in Italy, India, Austria, and Haiti.
Tesluk has extensive experience in living and working
overseas, including five years in Milan, Italy, where
he was vice president of Shearson Lehman Brothers. During
this time, he played a key role in establishing a joint
venture between CCII and Olivetti, the Italian computer
manufacturer. That venture, known as Omnitel SpA, went
on to win Italy’s second nationwide cellular license
in 1994.
In the early 1980s, Tesluk started his career at American
Express Co. as manager of international corporate affairs.
He focused on trade and regulatory issues and worked
closely with broad coalitions of U.S. and European companies,
along with the U.S. trade representative’s office
in Washington, D.C.
Tesluk has a master’s degree in economics from
the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International
Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C., and Bologna, Italy.
He earned his bachelor’s degree at the University
of the Pacific and the London School of Economics. He
is fluent in Italian and is a member of the Advisory
Council of the Johns Hopkins University Bologna Center.
He serves as board member and Treasurer of the Malta
House of Good Counsel which operates a women’s
shelter in Norwalk, Connecticut and is a board member
of the Project Pierre Toussaint which operates a school
for street children living in Cap Hatien, Haiti. In
addition, Tesluk serves as a board member of the World
Affairs Forum of Stamford, Connecticut.
